In creating Argyll Covenant we wanted to find a better way of providing employer covenant advice.  In response to feedback from clients and other advisers we wanted to:

  • make high-quality, leading covenant advice available to all schemes, regardless of size
  • provide concise, insightful and user-friendly reports
  • focus on meeting client needs rather than broadening project scope
  • ensure the experienced individuals clients met initially were not replaced by a more junior team

To provide a more rewarding advisory experience for trustees and employers, our approach is based on the following simple principles:

Expert advice

We only use experienced covenant advisers - each of our partners has over 20 years' advisory experience.  The senior team members whom clients meet at pitches will be the same individuals who deliver the service.  Our small size means we can make leading advice accessible to all schemes, regardless of size.

Clear communication

We place great emphasis on making our advice clear and concise to ensure it can be understood by the whole of the trustee board.  We do not include unnecessary technical detail in our advice or generate bulky hard-to-read reports.

Exceptional support

We offer the same high-quality advice as much larger firms but with the tailored service and attention to detail of a boutique.  We are used to delivering high quality work in tight timescales.  We make ourselves available 7 days a week if necessary to ensure our clients get the support they need.

Added value

We only provide employer-covenant related services - we do not sell clients services they do not need nor cross-sell to other practices.  We charge fair and transparent fees agreed in advance and wherever possible quote fixed fees to provide certainty over cost.

A fresh approach - each of our senior team is an experienced covenant adviser
